Maintainers from the 432nd Maintenance Group prepare an MQ-9 Reaper to takeoff via the Automatic Takeoff and Landing Capability (ATLC) at Creech Air Force Base, Nevada, Feb. 26, 2021. The ATLC is being pursued in order to provide enhanced capabilities to forward deployed locations via more agile launch and recovery (LRE) operations, faster employment of RPA assets, and a reduced manpower footprint, which ultimately ensures more Airmen are kept out of harm’s way. Strike Eagle can now carry 15 JDAMs
The 85th Test and Evaluation Squadron successfully flew an F-15E Strike Eagle carrying six JDAMs on a single side of the aircraft on Feb 22, 2021, showcasing a proof of concept for Agile Combat Employment, known as “ACE.”

A B-1B Lancer and B-52 Stratofortress flew together on February 3, 2021 over the skies of Barksdale Air Force Base for operational test sorties executed by the 337th and 49th Test and Evaluation Squadrons assessing bomber interoperability. This week of testing was the first in a series of B-1 and B-52 interoperability sorties, as the bomber operational test community explores tactics development for a more agile bomber strike force that leverages the strengths of the different platforms.
