Col. Steve DePalmer, 53d Wing commander, presents the 53d Wing Safety Cup Challenge trophy to Lt. Col. Dean King, 16th Electronic Warfare Squadron commander and Bill Pennell, 16th safety representative, for winning the large group competition of the challenge. The 16 EWS edged out 53d Wing staff to win its second trophy in a row. Now a four-time winner, the 29th Test Systems Squadron took home the medium-size unit award. The closest race was in the small-group contest where the Operational Flight Program Combined Test Force narrowly claimed victory over Detachment 3, 29 TSS by only two points. All the hard work lead to zero fatalities in the wing. In the nine safety categories, units offered more than 650 submissions.
