Tech Sgt. Pete Desjardins, 49th Test and Evaluation Squadron, holds up the T-569 machine to verify the weapon is non-nuclear. Willard Hareland from Sandia National Lab, waits to write down the machines read out. The weapon is a 3600 lb. Air-Launched Cruise Missile. It is loaded on a B-52 from the 23rd Bomb Squadron at Minot Air Force Base, N.D. The weapon has already been tested by the 49th TES twice before it ever reaches the aircraft. The entire process is part of the 49th TES’s Nuclear Weapon System Evaluation Program.
