HOLLOMAN AIR FORCE BASE N.M. – Col. J.D. Lee, Det 1, 82nd Aerial Targets Squadron commander, describes the QF-4 drone’s instrument panel to retired Col. Joe Kittinger (in cockpit) while German television WDR camera man Steffen Bohn films. Colonel Kittinger was shot down in an F-4 during the Vietnam War. A German film crew visited Holloman to tape a documentary about Col. Kittinger, who made a record setting parachute jump from a helium balloon over the Tularosa Basin in 1960. Det.1, 82nd ATRS is part of the 53rd Weapons Evaluation Group. The detachment provides aerial target support to the White Sands Missile Range. (U.S. Air Force photo/Tommy Fuller)
