HOLLOMAN AIR FORCE BASE N.M. – Col. J.D. Lee, Det 1, 82nd Aerial Targets Squadron commander, describes the QF-4 drone’s instrument panel to retired Col. Joe Kittinger (in cockpit) while German television WDR camera man Steffen Bohn films. Colonel Kittinger was shot down in an F-4 during the Vietnam War. A German film crew visited Holloman to tape a documentary about Col. Kittinger, who made a record setting parachute jump from a helium balloon over the Tularosa Basin in 1960.
