Number of years in the military: 18 How does it feel to be a new squadron CC? To be selected for command in today's Air Force is a true honor and privilege. The men and women who serve in todays military are true professionals with a high sense of duty and a determination to complete the mission. I am eager and excited to work with such high caliber people and look forward to aiding them in achieving their goals and guiding them toward mission success. What are your goals/agenda during your time as commander? My goal is to ensure the detachment contributes its maximum effort toward winning today's fight for the Air Force. With so many airman deployed throughout the world in support of the Global War on Terror, those of us back home must ensure they have the best tools at their disposal to conduct this fight. Our Detachment at Holloman provides full-scale QF-4 aerial target support for DoD weapons testing and evaluation, to include providing targets for our coalition partners. Ensuring these targets are available on time will ensure countless other programs deliver the best equipment to our engaged forces both in defending the homeland and achieving our strategic objectives overseas. What is one particular life lesson you've gained from your time in the military? Human beings each have their own strengths and weaknesses. People acting in an individual capacity can sometimes achieve good results. But, by combining individuals together and magnifying their strengths, which, in turn, diminishes their weaknesses, a bunch of individuals can form a cohesive group that can achieve outstanding results far beyond those of any one individual acting alone. What type of hobbies/activities do you have outside of work? My wife and I like to take small trips to explore the local area around each base where we've been stationed. If time allows, longer trips to see family are always enjoyable. If there was one thing about military life you would change what would it be? The military has been very good to me and my family. Each experience, whether good or bad, has shaped our lives and I wouldn't want to change any of it!
