EGLIN AIR FORCE BASE, Fla. -- The 53d Wing welcomed back an old friend when Col. Christopher Monahan, a former Wing Safety and 28th Test and Evaluation Squadron commander, took command of the 53d Test Management Group Aug. 8 at a ceremony at the Air Armament Museum.

How does it feel to be a new group CC?
Outstanding. I'm glad to be back in the 53d Wing and Florida.

What are your goals/agenda during your time as commander?
I want to continue the previous great work of the 53 TMG and continue to make the warfighter more lethal and more survivable.

What is one particular life lesson you've gained from your time in the military?
People are the key to every success

What type of hobbies/activities do you have outside of work?
I like working on old cars and golfing.

If there was one thing about military life you would change what would it be?
To pay people commensurate with their skill and responsibility.
