53rd F-22s take aim with Combat Archer

An F-22 from the 422nd Test and Evaluation Squadron, fires a missile over the Gulf of Mexico during a Combat Archer mission March 18 at Tyndall Air Force Base, Fla. The Weapons System Evaluation Program also known as Combat Archer, evaluates live air-to-air firing scenarios from beginning to end. The program covers missile movement from armory to the aircraft to all the tactics and procedures that must be used before releasing a live ordnance. This WSEP was a unique opportunity for the 83rd Fighter Weapons Squadron to evaluate a unit within its own wing. All aircraft and personnel involved belong to the 53d Wing.
